Well,
His first movie has just been released.
I am definitely not going to watch it ,
but I have to say one thing, I admire Mr.himesh, for his guts, his determination, his "i dont care a damn about what the others think" attitude. He is willing to do anything in order to "live" his dreams.
I say this because, it is only this attitude that helps u in reaching such heights.First of all, almost everyone(80% as per the pareto principle) has a vision, or a dream of reaching great heights. but the idea never translates into action. At present ,even i fall into this category, desperately making attempts to move on to the other side;
As and when you start working towards your dream, at every step in your success , there are scores of people to pull you down.
It depends on how you react to their actions. You could listen to them, stop pursuing your dream, and get back to the daily grind of doing donkey's work, live like the millions of the ordinary people who finally die without having achieved anything substantial in life, repenting that their life could have been a lot different ........... or ............. you could challenge everyone ..... including yourself..... get out of the comfort zone ..... and set a target which you would have otherwise thought impossible to achieve......... so that at the end of the day, irrespective of the result you achieve, you atleast have the satisfaction that you gave it your best shot.
As it was said in bollywood style" Mannubhai,Main kaash nahin bolna chahta hoon" ( aka shahrukh khan in " chalte chalte")
SO GO CHASE YOUR DREAMS BEFORE IT GETS TOO LATE.

New marketing/adv ideas.........
There's a new mode of advertising which has come up.
we now have screens set up in the a/c best buses, which run ads on a continuous basis.of late , you will come aqcross the promos of the forthcoming hindi film "swami" featuring juhi chawla ,on these screens.innovation at grassroots level. considering that people spend a significant amount of time travelling , the idea seems to be a big hit.much cheaper than spending crores of rupees on t.v.ads, only a one time cost of the screen, and maybe a monthly return, but sure hits a lot of eyeballs........
marketing can never be taught in the classrooms.

the grass is not greener on the other side
one of my friends came back from the states a few days back.he completed his post graduation from the u.s. he's now employed with an internally known accounting firm .earning at least 5 times of what i do , if not more........
a lot of people would assume that this is the best life could have......
but hey.... just give it a SECOND thought
getting up at 6 in the morning.no one but your friend to exchange the morning pleasantries.do some exericse(optional) prepare your breakfast.....
get ready.... set ... and go... hectic day at the office.... reports ... client meetings.... a lot of travelling.
then come home at eight... dead tired. wait ....the day's not over yet. you will have to make your own dinner( unless you are married) , do your own dishes. then go off to sleep.the same cycle repeats the next day.
Weekends will be a bore if you are someone who doesn't enjoy clubbing.....drinking beer is a habit one has to cultivate.....it's like drinking lime juice in india.
Absolutely impossible for someone like me who's attached to his family(comes before money),can't eat anything but vegetarian( loves spicy food), does not have the habit of clubbing/drinking , loves to talk to people,
The only saving grace is the savings at the end of the year... which is HUMONGOUS...
SAVES FIVE YEARS OF YOUR WORKING LIFE IN INDIA.....
AND AFTER A STAY OF AROUND 6 YEARS OVER THERE, THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO LOOKING BACK AND NOTHING TO STOP YOU.
SO WE SEE THAT THERE IS A CLEAR TRADE OFF.
YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE " CAREER " OR " SOCIAL LIFE "

how to tackle the death of loved ones
i heard this one at one session by "BAWA" last week .......
we always mourn the death of our beloved ones , for a long time...
sometimes can never get over it. some go into depression. some lose their purpose in life.
now here's a lovely way of putting it in a positive way.
you pass you final year of college....ie, you graduate...........
now even if you want to ,( coz u have enjoyed your time in college)you cannot stay for a year more, how much ever you want , coz your purpose of being there is achieved , and you must move ahead to pursue higher goals.it is a fact of life....
similarly ,
death is the stage of graduation from your life. you have achieved your purpose in life , and you are wasting your time here. death is the passage to your next goal , your next objective.so never mourn anyone's death for a long time , coz then you are not allowing your loved one to leave you( he/she cannot leave until he/she is sure you are fine) , so that he can pursue the higher goals, which "god " has decided for him................
so the best way to handle the death of your loved one is to mourn for some time, say a week or two , but then keep it all aside and celebrate his/her graduation....
by doing what your loved one had done in his/her times of happiness. go to the beach . throw a party. watch a movie......
the best gift you could give to the loved one who has untimely parted with you .........................

the generation gap
i have always been close to my mother , and very formal with my father . i can say with certainty , that this is the case with atleast 50 % of the boys.
as time has gone, we have the usual generation gap between us.
he doesn't approve of my my spendthrift nature, my late night outs,my careless and casual attitude, even my mom is fed up of my habits , especially that of procrastination and eating out when she has made a lavish dinner at home.but inspite of all this , they still care for me,they are worried when i do not inform them about coming late.they have sometimes not slept til i have come back.i have been reprimanded for this quite a few times.
they are the ones to support me when i am down and out.always encouraging me , and giving me the confidence that i can achieve anything.
they are the ones who are the happiest when i score for my cricket team , and my name comes in the daily magazine - which we call patrika,
my mom's the one who is always pushing me forward to learn new things
,my sister has been instrumental for me doing my mba, at a time when i was fully immersed in my job,in fact i can literally say that they have lived their life for me.... even my sister.
earlier , i used to fight with them a lot over trivial matters.
i could never understand why my father was so finicky over saving power, or why my mom used to shout at me to go to the doctor at the earliest.my sister used to fire me left right and center , over my laziness and personal hygiene,
I now realise is that all this was their way of showing their love for me , all for making ME a better person , so that i would not falter when i have to face the outer world.
we all have to learn that everyone has weaknesses.... so accept them and live with them. the good points far outnumber the weak ones. treat your parents as your friends.they could be the best ones. it is your turn to pay them back for whatever they have done. take your mom out for a dinner, or take your parents to a movie.
send them to a tour , with your own funds...... do something nice for them once in a while. they will really like it.
believe me , it is much more satisfactory and rewarding than spending money on yourself , your friends , or on your girlfriend .

A LIFE CHANGING LEARNING
a few days back i was given an assignment of doing three acts of kindness AT A workshop.and i couldnt do it.
i gave the reason " i tried but i couldnt"
the teacher placed a bottle on the table,
she told me " TRY to pick this bottle"
and i picked it up. she again said " TRY to pick up this bottle" " don't pick it up"
i got the message........
you can either pick up the bottle , OR YOU CANNOT......THERE'S NOTHING SUCH AS TRYING.....
golden rule of life :you either do it or dont, and it applies to anything and everthing .("try" is just used as an excuse)
from that day onwards , the word " try" is no longer in my dictionary......
do remove it from your dictionary too...........

ecological footprint
a few days back i cam across a concept called the ecological footprint ....
a concept everone should know about......
shows the extent to which an individual/ country or the world is utilising/abusing the resources of the planet.
the amount of land/water area that would be required if everyone had the standard of living that you followed.....
my footprint was 1.7. that means 1.7 planets would be required if everyone had my kind of lifestyle .switzerland has the highest number. more than 10 planets would be required if everyone lived like them.......
it has to be below 1
check out what is yours.....

technology for convenience
last year , it was a pain for me to pay the bill for my reliance cell phone...
i always pay by cash. so i go to the webworld. where i have to waste at least half an hour of my precious time just waiting in queue.. whats more it opends at 10.30 ( i am in college by then) it closed for lunch in the afternoon . the service is pathetic . and it shuts shop at 8.30 . half the time the power isnt there , so they cannot help you.
now you have this wonderful facility where you can pay your bills on the site of reliance at the following link :
http://bill.reliancecommunications.co.in/webapp/portal/jsp/user/AfterLogin.jsp
you have to create an account, and then at your leisure , you can pay the bill using your credit/debit card ,
whats more , u can view your entire payment history right for the last five payments , and you can also see your unbilled usage.
you can also send messages, though it was not a very user friendly experience.a boon for people like me whose time is very precious. technology does make life easy for everyone
