comment by shameer : B-Schools

Its the Quality of Students..Which , unfortunately no B-School in India ( including IIMA) can judge with the present selection procedure..

comment by manan - what makes or breaks a b- school

hey
wat eventually makes a b school or any such instition is THE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI.

why is jb where it is, due 2 alumni who hold top positions in the industy.

why is rizvi where it is,even with a brilliant director due to the intake.

i think though somaiya has never been a sachin or a lara in terms of excellence.we have always been a steven fleming. this bloke has been playing good solid cricket for over 12 years at the international level with only 6 ODI 100s yet no world 11 would be complete w/o him 2day.

we have consistantly given decent alumni who r doin well.the seniors were a nice batch. our batch is pretty decent.the juniors look good. i think we r on the right path. its just a matter of time before we get there.

think about it....

What is it that makes or breaks a b-school?

The college is pretty empty nowadays.
There are a few of us who come everyday to pay obeisance to our beloved institute .
during lunch time yesterday there started a very heated debate between rahul sheth, reenav shah , hitesh acharya and yours truly , as to exactly what is it that actually makes/breaks a b-school in the long run....... and wat will be the position of SIMSR five years down the line

a) the faculty - rizvi seems to have the best of them
b) the placements - bajaj rules for mms of course....
C) the marketing and branding - which wellingkar is doing so well nowadays
d) the infrastructure - somaiya is on its way up in this regard
e) the students.( the grasping power especially)
f) the accredition - which ICFAI lacks.
g) the alumni - (could not keep it out.......)
h) the rankings by the so called business magazines

do put your views on this..............

Investing-no rocket science but Common sense

WELL,
I AM A USER OF MARUTI WAGON R FOR A YEAR NOW.
I HAD PURCHASED TO VXI MODEL FOR 420000/-
PRETTY SATISFIED WITH IT.
GIVES AN AVERAGE OF AROUND 15 KM PER LITER WITH THE A/C.
THE COST COMES TO 3.5 TO 4 PER KM .

BUT MY USE DEPENDS ON THE FUEL PRICES WHICH HAS INCREASED TO RS. 52.70 NOW.
HENCE I WANT TO CONVERT IT TO LPG., WHERE MY COST WOULD REDUCE TO RS. 1.5O TO RS.2 PER KM
THE ONLY HICCUP IS THE INITIAL COST OF RS.20000 FOR THE KIT.
IT'S MARGINAL , BUT STILL IT PINCHES THE POCKET.

NOW CONSIDER THIS.....
MARUTI COMES OUT WITH A MODEL WITH LPG AT THE SAME COST OF RS.420000/-
AS A FIRST TIME CAR OWNER GIVEN A CHOICE I WOULD ANYDAY GO FOR A WAGON R BECAUSE:

1)COST IS 420000/- LESS THAN A SANTRO BY RS.25000/- ATLEAST WITH THE SAME MODELS

2)ZERO MAINTENANCE FOR ATLEAST 3 YEARS

3)LOW COST SPARE PARTS AS COMPARED TO HYUNDAIS EXPENSIVE ONES

4)GOOD A/C

5)ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING

6)RUNNING COST 0F RS.1.5PER KM WHICH IS CLOSE TO A 150CC BIKE LIKE CHARIZMA OR ELIMINATOR (THIS IS THE BEST PART)

7)THE FOLDING SEATS(GOOD FOR THE HIGHWAY DRIVE)

8) THE AFTER SALES SERVICE NETWORK OF MARUTI IN INCOMPARABLE AS EVERYONE KNOWS.

9) EVEN THE AFTER SALES SERVCE HAS IMPROVED DRASTICALLY(GOD KNOWS WHY? BUT ITS GOOD FOR US )

CONSIDERING ALL THESE FACTORS SALES ARE BOUND TO INCREASE WHICH IS SHOWN BY THE 42% GROWTH IN MATRUTI'S FIGURES QUARTER ON QUARTER

THIS TREND IS LIKELY TO CONTINUE FOR ATLEAST THE NEXT QUARTER WHERE I EZPECT MARUTI TO CONTINUE TO DO WELL.... OTHER FACTORS REMAINING THE SAME.

SO I RECOMMEND A STRONG BUY FOR MARUTI FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS....

SIMPLE ECONOMICS ...... ISN'T IT??????

The review of don

Well,
I did watch the movie first day , though not the first show .

Not the movie I would recommend for even one watch

Here's why you should not watch don for:

1) shahrukh khan- he looks old now
2) script- apart from two changes, everything is stale
3) dialogues - same old ones.
4) Isha koppikar - completetly wasted in the movie
5) comedy- zero

Here's why you should watch don:

1) songs- the remixes and the new ones - choreography, music is pretty decent
2) action sequences
3) priyanka chopra
4) The cinematography
5) the fashion statements.
6) kareena kapoor
