a few days back i was given an assignment of doing three acts of kindness AT A workshop.and i couldnt do it.
i gave the reason " i tried but i couldnt"
the teacher placed a bottle on the table,
she told me " TRY to pick this bottle"
and i picked it up. she again said " TRY to pick up this bottle" " don't pick it up"
i got the message........
you can either pick up the bottle , OR YOU CANNOT......THERE'S NOTHING SUCH AS TRYING.....
golden rule of life :you either do it or dont, and it applies to anything and everthing .("try" is just used as an excuse)
from that day onwards , the word " try" is no longer in my dictionary......
do remove it from your dictionary too...........

Everything's not black or white.. there are shades of gray... And there in lies the folly of seeing (or concluding) too much from a single event... well, if instead of a bottle, I place a 1 ton automobile (couldn't think of anything better.. replace it with whatever seems better) and ask you to pick it up... Then its possible that you try and still you wouldn't be able to pick it up...
Granted, your teacher was "trying" to prove that the word 'try' shouldn't be used an an excuse, still there will always be things you can 'try' to do but never suceed in them despite giving your best efforts..
Hence I retain 'try' in my dictionary

the point is taken....
the context was that a lot of people do wOrk half heartedly and then say that they "TRIED " BUT FAILED . the learning is that if u give 100% u r bound to get the desired result most of the time.
I quiet agree vth ur teacher...
giv ur 100%.. dont try...
sum1 1ce told me
"TRY ko FRY"
