The college is pretty empty nowadays.
There are a few of us who come everyday to pay obeisance to our beloved institute .
during lunch time yesterday there started a very heated debate between rahul sheth, reenav shah , hitesh acharya and yours truly , as to exactly what is it that actually makes/breaks a b-school in the long run....... and wat will be the position of SIMSR five years down the line
a) the faculty - rizvi seems to have the best of them
b) the placements - bajaj rules for mms of course....
C) the marketing and branding - which wellingkar is doing so well nowadays
d) the infrastructure - somaiya is on its way up in this regard
e) the students.( the grasping power especially)
f) the accredition - which ICFAI lacks.
g) the alumni - (could not keep it out.......)
h) the rankings by the so called business magazines
do put your views on this..............

Its the Quality of Students..Which , unfortunately no B-School in India ( including IIMA) can judge with the present selection procedure..
hey
wat eventually makes a b school or any such instition is THE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI.
why is jb where it is, due 2 alumni who hold top positions in the industy.
why is rizvi where it is,even with a brilliant director due to the intake.
i think though somaiya has never been a sachin or a lara in terms of excellence.we have always been a steven fleming. this bloke has been playing good solid cricket for over 12 years at the international level with only 6 ODI 100s yet no world 11 would be complete w/o him 2day.
we have consistantly given decent alumni who r doin well.the seniors were a nice batch. our batch is pretty decent.the juniors look good. i think we r on the right path. its just a matter of time before we get there.
think about it....
